Are You Ready??
Last week I was hospitalized for 5 days. I had dealt all day Sunday with what I thought was another bout with kidney stones. By the time I got to the doctor Monday morning I was running a temp 0f 103.8 and in extreme pain. The doctor thought my stones had blocked my kidneys and he knew I had some type of infection due to my white counts. He immediately admitted me to the hospital.
Well, I do have kidney stones. They were not the culprit. I did have a severe infection, but the antibiotics were seemingly doing little to attach the infection. Further tests revealed a serious bacteria infection in the blood. The doctor came in to report the findings and stated that it was a "life-threatening situation."
To be honest, I had often thought that when I heard those words I would panic. But I did not. In reality, I felt the peace - the presence -f God and just calmly listened to his plan of action as to how it might be treated and how serious what I was experiencing was. But all I could think of was the Peace and the presence of Christ - NOTHING else mattered!
I hope that each of you have the calm assurance of Christ Jesus as your Savior and His Spirit providing peace in the midst of hte storms o life. If the doctor comes to give you bad news---or you experience difficult circumstances - will the news destroy you, or will you experience the peace of Christ?
I pray you will know His peace!
